JUAMI 2023: Materials for a Sustainable Future

We are delighted to announce that the next JUAMI school will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, June 18 – 30, 2023. The local host will be the University of Nairobi, and participants will be housed in the Nairobi Safari Club Hotel, just a short walk from the university campus. The opportunity is for research active PhD students in the US, and for post-graduate, PhD and early career faculty in Africa to apply for this fully funded enrichment, collaboration and learning opportunity. Taking place over a two-week period in Nairobi, the program will include tutorial level and research level talks by renowned international speakers on experimental materials science, electrochemistry and sustainable energy, clean water, and solar fuel production. It will also involve team-based hands-on practical tasks and will include training in crafting and writing competitive collaborative project proposals. We believe that these schools provide a unique experience and opportunity to experience scientific research across cultures and we strongly encourage you to apply.

Thanks to generous support from the US National Science Foundation, all selected to participate will have their travel and lodging expenses fully covered.
